History
Although an Independent Department Of Veterinary Medicine was established at Chulalongkorn University In April 1935 , According to the Chulalongkorn University Act 1934. There was still no teaching of surgery in the beginning, The Veterinary Medicine Degree Program.
In 1939, when Chulalongkorn University The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree program was increased from 4 years to 5 years. Surgery was taught. It was first established in Year 5.
In 1942, the Veterinary Medicine Department Chulalongkorn University has been promoted to the level of Veterinary Medicine. Under the University of Medicine Ministry of Public Health Therefore, various departments were divided into Surgery. Has been in the position of the department.
Since 1959 The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was transferred Moved to Kasetsart University.
Until 1967 It was transferred back again to depend on Chulalongkorn University.
Then, It was changed of the name of Unit to "The Department Of Veterinary Medicine", according to the Chulalongkorn University Act 1979. Until Now.
In the first phase of surgery education (5 year curriculum), Surgery and Obstetrics were taught, totaling 18 credits, but it does not appear that Surgery was taught. and Obstetrics, how many credits per subject?
In 1954, when the faculty increased the curriculum from 5 years to 6 years. Total of 19 credits of surgery are taught, of which 6 credits are taught in the 5th year and 13 credits in the 6th year.
In addition, 2 credits of radiology and 7 credits of obstetrics and reproductive science were also taught when the Department of Obstetrics and Dentology was established. and reproductive science in 1978, so the subjects of obstetrics and reproductive science were transferred. Going to be in a completely new department
