History of the Department of Pharmacology

In its early stages, the Department of Pharmacology lacked a faculty member. There is only one acting department head, Prof. Lt. Gen. Luang Chai Asavarak. Following that, in 1942, the second batch of bachelor's degree in veterinary science graduates. As a result, the first lecturer in the department, as well as the position of head of the department of pharmacology, is Lecturer, M.R. Chananwat Devakun, who teaches pharmacology in the first phase of studying Materia Medica. When Lecturer M.R. Chananwat became a teacher, he changed the curriculum to include more practical subjects, following the model of England and with the cooperation of the Faculty of Pharmacy Helping to teach pharmaceuticals or drug concocting. Lecturer Supit (Thamangraksat) Jindawanik, who graduated in Pharmacy, has assisted in teaching pharmaceuticals as well as physiology and pharmacology operations. Lecturer Supit later moved to the Department of Physiology to teach Biochemistry. When Lecturer M.R. Chananwat was contacted in 1956 to help teach anatomy at the Faculty of Science, he moved under and continued to advance in the government until he retired as a professor.

 

         

Dr. Prasong Taemiyajol, M.R.C.V.S.*, a lecturer, has been appointed as a full-time lecturer. Next is the head of the pharmacology department, who served as a professor until his retirement in 1968. In 1967, this department transferred personnel from the Department of Livestock Development to take the position of Master Lecturer Danit Taweetiyanon, with Prof. Manit Payakkanan acting as the department's head Prof. Manit Payakkanan retired from animal husbandry at the time. lecturer Danit, who later received a scholarship to study in Denmark and earned a certificate in veterinary pharmacology from The Royal Agriculture and Veterinary College. For a time, College served as Acting Head of Department. lecturer Danit was retired from the position before taking office in 1973 until 1983, and again from 1988 to 1992. Associate Professor in 1997, while lecturer Danit was the department head. It has implemented a change in teaching and learning in accordance with the developed curriculum by dividing pharmacology teaching into general pharmacology and veterinary pharmacology with clearly separated lecture and practice credits. however, it is also included in the same subject The laboratory is full of experiments and taking students out into the field for drug administration practice in various types of livestock, as well as visits to the pharmaceutical factory as before later on, general pharmacology was divided into two subjects. Theoretical (Pharmacology 1) and practical (Pharmacology 2), with veterinary pharmacology retained as Pharmacology 3 and toxicology added to the curriculum. Dr.Somkiat Tachampa, a lecturer, joined the government service in 1973 and later earned a Ph.D. from Germany. Between 2000 and 2004, he was the department's head, as well as the Faculty's Deputy Dean for Planning and Development. During the year 1998, he also worked as an assistant to the rector. Courses were established during Dr.Somkiat's tenure as department head. "Practice in Veterinary Pharmacology" for Year 6 students in 2001 marks the beginning of the full era of Clinical Pharmacology after teachers laid the groundwork for this topic in the early days. In the year 2008, Dr. Somkiat retired from the position of Associate Professor.

Dr.Wara (Chansirisri) Panichkriengkrai joined the government service in 1975, which led to a PhD program in the United States. Previously served as Head of Department from 1984 to 1988, 1992 to 1996, 1996 to 2000, and 2004 until her appointment as Deputy Dean for Administration of the Faculty of Veterinary Science on February 1, 2006. Dr.Ajarn Wara's tenure as district chief. The department's teaching and learning responsibilities have been expanded to include an advanced degree in addition to the bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science program. Beginning in 1988, the interdisciplinary program in Pharmacology laid the groundwork for the Master of Science program Veterinary Pharmacology. Associate Professor Wara has retired. In the year 2009.

In 1977, Dr.Supattra (Nawaphisak) Srichairat received her Ph.D. from Germany. Previously served as the Master of Science Program in Interdisciplinary Pharmacology's chairman. This is a post-degree bachelor's program developed in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine. Faculty of Dentistry-Medicine, Pharmacy Faculty, and Veterinary Science Faculty. Students with a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Medical Sciences may wish to pursue a master's degree, followed by a doctorate degree. Dr.Supattra retired as an Associate Professor in 2013.

Dr.Sirinthorn Yibchoka-nan, joined the government service in 1992 and later earned a Doctorate degree from the United States, serving as Head of Department in 2006 and Deputy Dean in 2009, initiating research on the use of herbal remedies. until the work received the Ratchadaphisek Somphot award in 2004, followed by a National Research Council research award in 2006. It also applies basic principles of drug use to real-world clinical use, which has been continuously published in national and international academic journals. Dr.Sirinthorn, an Associate Professor who wrote numerous academic textbooks, died in 2013 as an Associate Professor.

Dr.Piyarat (Suphachalat) Chansiripornchai joined the government in 1994 and later earned a PhD from Japan. Served as the department's head from 2010 to 2013 and again from 2013 to 2018 and is interested in the use of drugs in clinical practice, particularly the use of dermatological drugs in pets. The research findings are regularly published in national and international academic journals. Many academic textbooks are included. Dr.Piyarat has also conducted research on the use of herbs in animals, the results of which won the Nagai Award from Japan for the use of durian gel in the treatment of animal wounds.

Dr.Anong (Rojanakomol) Binthawihok, joined the Department of Livestock Development in 1994 as a Special Specialist. Associate Professor, Level 9, and Secretary-General of the Faculty Council, Veterinary Academic Inspection and Analysis (Toxicology), Toxicology and Biochemistry Group, Academic Division, who received his doctorate in Japan in 1995. 2009 It is a major departmental force in toxicology education, as well as toxicology and autopsy services. She was also appointed to the position. She has been the Director of the Faculty's Center for Research and Development of Livestock Production Technology since 2004. Dr.Anong retired as an Associate Professor in 2013.

 

 

Dr. Lt. Ying Naowarat Suthamnatphong received doctorate from Japan in 1997. Before joining the civil service as a professor of pharmacology, she was a member of the Royal Thai Army's Animal Department, currently hold the rank of Associate Professor, Level 9. The importance of the department in graduate-level teaching She was the chairman of the Master of Science Program in Pharmacology in Veterinary  and the course director interdisciplinary pharmacology from 2012 to 2017, and he is interested in toxicology research.

Dr. Nipattra (Thepwan) Suanphairintr is a lecturer who joined the government in 1997 and went on to earn a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nipattra's research interests include animal drug pharmacokinetics and antibiotic resistance, both of which have received funding from internal and external sources. She was also asked to give a Veterinary Science lecture, and her research findings were published in international journals on a regular basis. It is a major departmental force in student teaching as well as postgraduate and graduate research.

Dr. Chenphop Sawangmake, lecturer, joined the university faculty (A-5 lecturers) in 2013 after receiving a master's degree in veterinary pharmacology and a Ph.D. in veterinary biosciences from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Veterinary Science. He was a Fulbright Research Visiting Scholar in 2013 at the University of Washington (UW), Seattle, USA, in the Department of Bioengineering, School of Medicine. She conducted research as a 2017 Research Visiting Scholar at Tohoku University's Graduate School of Dentistry's Department of Molecular and Regenerative Prosthodontics in Sendai, Japan. "Regenerative Medicine / Pharmacology Using Stem Cell-Based Therapy") to develop a method for introducing stem cells into both induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and adult pluripotent stem cells (ASCs) for veterinary applications (mainly focus on diabetes mellitus, eye diseases, and bone regeneration in veterinary practice). as a guest lecturer and speaker on diabetes, pain management, and gastrointestinal drugs Among those involved are committees from the Food and Drug Administration, the Veterinary Council, and the Animal Drug and Biological Products User Association.
