🦜 From Social Media Headlines: Psittacosis (Parrot Fever)
Many people are concerned… but how serious is it? How high is the risk?

Psittacosis is a zoonotic disease that can occur in humans.
However, it is not easily transmitted, as often misunderstood on social media.

Infection usually occurs through inhalation of dust or respiratory secretions from infected birds,
especially in high-risk settings such as live poultry markets, breeding farms, or areas with large numbers of birds.

Being alert is important.
But panic driven by incomplete or misleading information may lead to misunderstanding and unnecessary fear.
The key is to stay informed through reliable sources
and to follow proper preventive measures.

Human–Animal–Environmental Health are interconnected
Accurate understanding leads to appropriate prevention.

Be informed, not alarmed
Good hygiene and trustworthy information can effectively reduce risk.
